Anne and Nick would like to welcome you to our 2 bedroom country cottage just an 8 minute drive to the old Moorish capital of Silves, offering Bed & Breakfast or full self-catering facilities.

We live in an adjacent cottage and in the B&B cottage - Casa Velha - have two double letting bedrooms, each with a double bed and own en-suite shower-room.

Both rooms have ceiling fans but we must point out that as this is a traditional Algarvian longhouse, with walls up to 2ft thick, it keeps its cool in the summer and warmth in the winter...you'll rarely need the fans.

You can use the kitchen to make your tea and coffee...squeeze orange juice..or prepare a G 'n T if that's more your taste!

For most days from April to October breakfast is served on our beautiful terrace underneath the vine.
We offer a full continental breakfast with fresh fruit, breads, cheese, local honey and so on - you won't go out for the day hungry!

And for a small extra charge we are also delighted to prepare a packed lunch for guests.
We have a menu to suit all tastes - including wine or beer to make it a proper Algarve picnic.

The lounge, for the use of our guests only, has sat tv, radio and CD player - and guests are welcome to relax here.
We also have lots of books (about 200 at the last count!) , board games etc.

Guests who visit this peaceful location are usually looking for somewhere to switch off - and it couldn't fit the bill better for that.
But it is also a fantastic location for those who want to walk or cycle in the stunning countryside. We are just a few minutes from access to a stretch of the newly completed Algarve Way - the cross Algarve walking route. We'll be happy to pick you up from the end of your day's walk and take you to the start of the next leg.

We also have bikes for hire for a nominal fee - please book in advance.

If you really can't leave work at home we can arrange to allow you to check your emails for just a small extra charge. Mobile phones work very well at Quinta das Uvas.

Of course our pool is for the use of guests at any time.

Quinta das Uvas really is a home from home in a beautiful part of the Algarve and we look forward to welcoming you to join us for a relaxing stay in our very own little piece of paradise.

As we offer our B & B clients a quiet place to contemplate and relax we are sorry to say that we don't accept children on our Bed & Breakfast basis.
However, subject to availability, families are welcome to rent the full cottage on a self-catering basis .- you can see our rates for this at our alternative web page.

Nearby attractions and activities:

Set in a rural location with walking, cycling (bikes for hire), birdwatching and relaxing all on your doorstep. Silves Castle is nearby for those who like a bit of history and you are just a 20 minute drive from the Algarve's beautiful beaches and even less from a golf course.

We are in the hamlet of Cumeada de Baixo, half way between Messines and Silves, just off the EN124
